When CRM information is difficult to join up
A company's job lifecycle was spread across five Zoho modules. The customer relationship management system held the information, but its configuration made it difficult to follow work across quotes, costings, delivery results and account history.
Cost and margin information was disconnected from quote-stage reporting. The dashboards did not give the team a useful joined view of the business, and a rebuild programme was being considered.
Connecting records through the existing CRM's API
The work created a custom interface over the existing CRM, using its API to bring related records into connected views.
The quote book helped users identify margin issues and follow a quote through to its costing and delivery context. Cost-value reconciliation compared what the work had been priced to return with the delivered-cost records, while making incomplete information and assumptions visible.
The account view brought the wider relationship together, so the team could investigate a commercial question without manually assembling information from separate modules.
Turning account history into a next action
A dormant-account view helped staff identify past accounts to revisit. From a selected account, they could generate an editable reconnection draft based on its history and track their follow-through.
A payment forecaster used historical client payment behaviour to estimate invoice payment windows and produce a thirteen-week cash view. Sales reporting brought together trends, origination, conversion and quotes awaiting an outcome.
How the work connects
From the information.
To the decision.
- 01Input
Start with the records
Information sits across five Zoho modules. Quotes, costings, delivery and account history need to be read together.
- 02Workflow step
Join the information
The custom interface uses the existing CRM’s API to connect related records.
- 03Human input / decision
Investigate a question
Staff follow a margin exception or account query through to its underlying records and review gaps.
- 04Human input / decision
Take the next action
Prepare an editable account follow-up or use payment estimates to inform a commercial decision.
The result
What changed
The team gained a connected way to investigate quote margins, understand account history, prepare follow-up and anticipate payment timing using information already held in its systems.
The delivered capability was a practical interface over the existing CRM. Forecasts remained estimates, and incomplete records were identified rather than silently treated as complete.
